Update March 20th
by our Pastor Cleon “Buddy” Rogers
Dear Church family,
We will not be able to meet again. This is certainly our desire or our wish. We have to understand that God is using this to accomplish His will. Perhaps it is a call for some to come to Him with their problems. Perhaps it is a call for others to serve Him by helping others. It could be that is a call to take time for prayer and Bible Study.
We will not be meeting until the government officials allow this again. In the meantime, we encourrage and invite you to listen to our latest sermon uploaded on Youtube.
Please know that God is with us in each moment to help, to encourage, to correct and support.
God bless you

Update March 14th
by our Pastor Cleon “Buddy” Rogers
In light of our Lord’s commandment to love God and our neighbor we have decided to cancel all official meetings of IBC Giessen. In doing this we are in line with the other local churches as well as governmental guidelines.
God is certainly not panicked over the crisis. That is why we can worship Him by trusting Him during this period. We can read His word and be encouraged. We can express our love to Him by obedience and adoration.
We also want to love others by treating them the way we want others and God to treat us. It seems the best course of action to slow the spread of this virus is to limit contact with others. The other thing we can do is to pray fervently to our Lord and Savior for His mercy and grace in this crisis situation.
We will work on putting a sermon online at both our website and facebook page.
Could I leave you with three thoughts?
Would you take some time to worship the Lord?
Would you take some time to pray?
Generally, we pray for grace and mercy at the time of time.
Particular, we pray for those who are suffering from the effects of the virus and for those who make decisions.
Individually, we express our concerns to God and our confidence in God who is infinitely concerned with us.
Would you take some time to read God’s word? Particularly look at the reasons the poet has confidence in God.
14 But I trust in you, Lord; I say, “You are my God.”15 My times are in your hands; deliver me from the hands of my enemies, from those who pursue me. 16 Let your face shine on your servant; save me in your unfailing love. 17 Let me not be put to shame, Lord, for I have cried out to you; but let the wicked be put to shame and be silent in the realm of the dead.18 Let their lying lips be silenced, for with pride and contempt they speak arrogantly against the righteous.19 How abundant are the good things that you have stored up for those who fear you, that you bestow in the sight of all, on those who take refuge in you. 20 In the shelter of your presence you hide them from all human intrigues; you keep them safe in your dwelling from accusing tongues. 21 Praise be to the Lord, for he showed me the wonders of his love when I was in a city under siege. 22 In my alarm I said, “I am cut off from your sight!” Yet you heard my cry for mercy when I called to you for help. 23 Love the Lord, all his faithful people! The Lord preserves those who are true to him, but the proud he pays back in full. 24 Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord.
(NIV Ps 31:14-25)
Finally, may I encourage you to continue to monitor our social media so that you will know when we will meet as a church body again?
