Dear Church family and friends,
The Lord’s Prayer is our blueprint for communicating with the Lord, but there are plenty of other examples of prayer in the Bible. One of them, found in Matthew 26, was taken into consideration on Sunday morning. In verses 36 to 45 we find Jesus seeking a moment to talk with His Father, and finding his disciples are not as energetic as He had hoped. The prayer itself seems quite human; however, Pastor Buddy encouraged us to look beyond that in his sermon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mlh8q49jg3U
This week in Church…
Young Adults’ Bible Study (YABS) meets on Tuesday evenings at 7pm. More information can be found in the WhatsApp group or by asking Pastor Johannes, Mona or Oliver. Another way you can get in touch is by writing to yabs@ibc-giessen.org.
Mid-Week Bible Study on Wednesday at 7pm will meet online and discuss the next section of the book of Hebrews in their read-through.
Men’s Breakfast on Saturday morning starts at 9:30am. The gentlemen will meet in the Campus für Christus buildings and are looking forward to a big turn-out! If you would like to join them, please let us know by writing to the e-mail address given below and tell us what you will bring to the buffet.
Worship Service on Sunday morning will take place at 11am. There will be a livestream available for those unable to make it to the Chapel Room at the FTH.
Please be aware that ‘summer time’ ends in the night leading into Sunday. This means that the clocks will go back an hour: an extra hour in bed before service starts at 11am…
… or maybe you wish to use the time preparing your dish for Pot-Luck after the service? A shared lunch after Church is always a blessing, especially when there’s a big selection of food to try! If you do wish to re-heat anything for before it is served, please allow time for this and keep in mind that you may not be the only person with that idea. We hope to see many people there, and look forward to a time of thanksgiving and fellowship together.
For a full list of all upcoming events at IBC Giessen, please take a look at the Church Calendar on our website: https://www.ibc-giessen.org/calendar/. If you require a link to our livestream or any other online activity we have coming up this week, please e-mail office@ibc-giessen.org.
Have a blessed week!
