Update for Sunday, June 14th
by Pastor Cleon “Buddy” Rogers III

Dear Sisters and Brothers

I am not a prophet and cannot predict the weather. From all the forecasts I have seen, it is supposed to rain significantly tonight and tomorrow. In light of this, we feel it is better to cancel the service now rather than to cancel tomorrow morning. We will continue to plan to meet on Sunday, June 21st, for an outside service.

Could you help us out and let as many as possible know about both the cancellation and the sermon and play list?

Because the service is cancelled we have recorded the sermon and have a play list with songs as usual.

Wishing you the richest blessings from our Lord and Savior.

The Sermon of Pastor Buddy for this Sunday:

A letter of our Pastor Cleon “Buddy” Rogers:

Dear Church family,
Three months ago, we never would have thought this would have been possible that we express our love for the Lord and for others by not meeting and suspending all meetings. For many this has been a difficult time to go without the fellowship that we are destined to have. For others, the online sermons and prayer meetings have been more than sufficient. There are many different takes on the virus and on the way to proceed. Some or you may want to meet immediately, while others want to indefinitely postpone. Here I would ask for you to practice Christian humility and not judge the other person, but to be accepting without violating your conscience. Others have started meeting on a very limited and restricted basis. We decided to hold off a little longer to be on the safe side. Could I explain my thinking on our meeting again?

What do we desire?
We desire to meet immediately in a safe and healthy environment.

What are we allowed to do?
We are allowed to meet by following strict guidelines and restrictions. I have contacted the Gesundheitsamt in Giessen so that we can fulfill all the legal requirements for meeting. Our credibility before the world and the safety of others are our concerns. Based on what they recommended we would be able to meet outside weather permitting.

What is wise to do?
Here the question is the reward worth the effort and risk. It seems the wise thing to do is To wait and see how the restrictions are lifted and the virus recedes. To monitor closely and be prepared to meet when restrictions are loosened more.

What is our time frame?
We will monitor the situation, the legal requirements and loosening of the restrictions weekly. We will inform you via social media and email well as word of mouth about any changes due to a changing situation. Things are still very fluid and subject to change.
At the present I am praying that the virus is contained so that the restrictions are lifted.
Thank you for supporting each other and our church.

Our suggestion is to attempt to meet outside on June 14th at 11 o’clock. There are tents, benches, and chairs that we can use. Please check social media and email for further updates. That being said we will continue to present the sermons on line for those who cannot come to church.
Desiring to see you personally and serve the Lord together
I remain your

Pastor Buddy
