Dear Church family and friends,
As a response to last week’s sermon we asked what the sense of an oath or promise is if you have no intention of keeping to it; if you don’t ‘mean it’. The same could be asked about apologies. In his sermon yesterday, Pastor Buddy gave some good examples of attempts at apologies that we may have heard before. They come across as insincere and may even make us feel more wounded than we were in the first place: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_fKHUyUVXEU
This week in Church…

Praying Moms met online this morning at 9:30am – don’t worry if you missed it or if that time is inconvenient for you! The next meeting takes place at 7:30pm on Tuesday 8th April.
Mid-Week Bible Study meets both in-person and online on Wednesday evening at 7pm. If you cannot make it to the Israel Room at the FTH in time, you can join us via Zoom.
Sunday Morning Worship Service takes place at the usual time of 11am in the Chapel Room at the FTH. As it is the first Sunday of the month, we will be celebrating the Lord’s Table together. If you are joining us via the livestream, perhaps you would like to gather some juice and bread before the service begins.
If you require a link to our livestream or any other online activity we have coming up this week, please e-mail office@ibc-giessen.org. For a full list of all upcoming events at IBC Giessen, please take a look at the Church Calendar on our website: https://www.ibc-giessen.org/calendar/ .
A Few Quick Reminders about Easter…
Our Maundy Thursday service will take place on 17th April at 7pm. It has been previously advertised as 6pm, but that time has changed to 7pm. There will be a time of music and quiet, personal reflection before the service starts, if you wish to use it. Otherwise, we will be remembering the events leading up to Jesus’ death together as well as taking part in a time of communion.
On Easter Sunday (20th April) we will be celebrating Christ’s Resurrection by eating breakfast together. There is a list at the back of the Church where you can note down what you plan on bringing with you to share with the Church family. We plan on eating together at 9am, before moving on to a Resurrection Sunday service at 11am.
After the Easter Sunday service, there will be an Easter Egg Hunt for the children. All donations of individually wrapped candies and chocolate eggs are wholeheartedly accepted! Parents, if your child would like to participate, please bring an Easter basket or gift bag so that your child may collect as they go!
God be with you in this week!
