Update for Monday, April 7th 2025

Dear Church family and friends,

We don’t know about you, but the time change left us all out of place. Despite knowing that Sunday was the first in the month, we were in the pattern of writing ‘Matthew 23:’ for the video title – thankfully, Pastor Buddy was aware that he should preach on the verse of the year, Romans 12 verse 10!: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OsMYlbdfCDM

This week in Church…

Young Adults’ Bible Study (YABS) meets on Tuesday at 7pm in their various groups around Giessen. For more information please write to yabs@ibc-giessen.org

Praying Moms will also meet on Tuesday evening, but at 7:30pm and online. Their next meeting is on Monday 14th at 9:30am.

Mid-Week Bible Study meets both in-person and online on Wednesday evening at 7pm. If you cannot make it to the Israel Room at the FTH in time, you can join us via Zoom.

Sunday Morning Worship Service takes place at the usual time of 11am in the Chapel Room at the FTH. If you are already travelling because of the school holidays or are ill and need to stay at home, you are more than welcome to join us online.

If you require a link to our livestream or any other online activity we have coming up this week, please e-mail office@ibc-giessen.org. For a full list of all upcoming events at IBC Giessen, please take a look at the Church Calendar on our website: https://www.ibc-giessen.org/calendar/ .

A Few Quick Reminders about Easter…

On Maundy Thursday (17th April) we will have a service starting at 7pm, remembering the sacrifice that Jesus made for us.

On Easter Sunday (20th April) we will begin our Easter celebrations with a breakfast together, starting at 9am. Please put your name down on the list if you plan on coming, as the Church will be providing bread rolls and drinks. You can also put your name toward a contribution to the meal, but if you are undecided, that’s okay! The main thing is: we would love to see you and make sure there’s enough for everyone! After our breakfast, we will have a Resurrection Sunday service starting at 11am.

What happens after the Easter Sunday service? Well, while the adults continue the breakfast clear up, the children will be searching for eggs! They won’t have anything to look for though if donations of individually wrapped chocolates and sweeties aren’t made! If you’re super organised, Philipp will gladly hold on to any potential treasures until Easter Sunday. If the parents could provide baskets or bags for their children to collect their goodies, that would be appreciated. If not, just let us know that your child would like to take part and we will make sure that there’s something there for them to collect with.

God be with you in this week!
