Updates from October 2020

Update for Sunday, October 25th

Dear Church family and friends,
The clocks will go back an hour this Sunday – but we will still be meeting at 11am!
A sermon has already been recorded, just in case you miss the service:

If you do manage to get to the FTH at the right time, we will continue to meet in our new regular place. There will be signs if you are unsure where this is; it‘s the single storey building to the right of the main FTH building.
Rules regarding face masks have changed, in that they must now be worn for the entire service. There will be no congregational singing.
Enjoy the extra hours sleep, and we look forward to seeing you soon!

Update for Sunday, October 18th

Dear Church family and friends,
The government guidelines keep changing, and everything seems quite confusing right now – IBC Gießen will, however, continue to meet at 11am. To keep physical distancing measures in place, we will continue to meet in the one storey building to the right of the main FTH building. Please remember to wear a mask when entering and leaving the building. You may remove it once you are seated.

For those unable to attend, Pastor Buddy has recorded a sermon for you:

In other news:
New places of employment are always a thing to be thankful for – even if it means that they take members of our congregation to different churches:

Last Sunday, we sent Johannes A. on his way to his new calling as Youth Pastor in the Baptistengemeinde Marburgerstrasse. While he and his wife Anne will still be in Gießen, they will unfortunately no longer regularly attend our services.

They have both put an enormous amount of work into the Worship Nights, YABS and Sunday service worship, and will be very much missed. We know that their new Church will be as blessed by their presence as we have been.

We pray for a good start in Johannes’ new area of ministry, and that God continues to bless the newly-married couple in this time of change.

We look forward to seeing you on Sunday!

Update for Sunday, October 11th

Dear Church family and friends,
As the weather gets colder and wetter, you will be glad to know that we will continue to meet indoors for our 11am service on Sunday. The service will take place in the one storey building to the right of the main FTH building – there will be a sign outside!

You will need to wear a mask on entering the building and finding a place to sit, as well as when leaving to go home. You may take your mask off when the service starts.
Please remember to keep physically distant to other members of the congregation.

If you feel uncomfortable worshipping with others in the current circumstances – or are not able to attend for another reason – Pastor Buddy has again made sure that you do not miss out on hearing the Word of God:

We look forward to seeing you on Sunday!

Update for Sunday, October 4th
