Update for Monday, December 23rd 2024

Dear Church family and friends,

The week of Christmas: maybe you are winding down or gearing up for a period of gathering and celebrating. Perhaps you might find time in the coming days to listen again to our advent sermons and re-discover the true meaning of the season. You can find the latest instalment here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cbZJHex1lFE  . The playlist can be watched here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLevqjirL-fLO1DihU9E-7TWLwNiYyp5qz

There is no YABS this week as it is Christmas Eve tomorrow, and we will be celebrating the Light of the World at 5pm in the FTH with an evening service. There will be songs, a sermonette and a time of prayer – and afterward we will gather together for a finger food buffet. If you are unable to join us because you are going on to meet family then we wish you every blessing. But all are invited to bring a dish to share which does not need re-heating or cooking to enjoy, and to spend time with others after the service.

Here at IBC Giessen we do not have a Christmas Day or New Year’s Eve/Day service, but we will gather to worship God ‚between the years‘ on whatever that Sunday may be. This year that is the 29th December. We meet at our usual time of 11am. Of course, we have a livestream link for those still out of town. A livestream is available for both of these services for those who are out of town but still wish to be part of a congregation. Just write to office@ibc-giessen.org and we will send you a link.

Wherever you find yourself this Christmas – physically, mentally and spiritually – we pray that it is a blessed one for you. One where you can focus and reflect on the wonderful gift that God sent us, his Son in the manger, and what impact His birth has in your life. May His message of love, peace, freedom and hope reign in your heart during this festive season.

Merry Christmas!
