Update for Monday, April 28th 2025

Dear Church family and friends,

In the last section of Matthew 23, having looked at the seven woes, Pastor Buddy’s sermon from Sunday looks at the warning given by Jesus if we do no turn to Him. If you’ve ever wondered just what spring chicks have to do with Easter, or the Christian faith at all, you might be able to get some answers…  :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjxpg7ZSbBM

This week in Church…

Young Adults’ Bible Study (YABS) takes place on Tuesday (29th) evening at 7pm, in various places around Giessen. To find out who meets where, and which group is the English-speaking one, write to this e-mail address:  yabs@ibc-giessen.org

Praying Moms gathered together online this morning (Monday 28th) at 9:30am. Next week they will meet on Tuesday evening at 7:30pm.

Mid-Week Bible Study continues on Wednesday evening at 7pm in the Israel Room in the FTH. If you are not able to make it on time, you can join this study of Israel’s Kings online.

Sunday morning is the first Worship Service of the month. At the usual time of 11am we will meet in the Chapel Room and share the Lord’s Table as part of our service. If you are watching online, you can get yourselves prepared with a piece of bread and some juice beforehand.

If you require a link to our livestream or any other online activity we have coming up this week, please e-mail office@ibc-giessen.org. For a full list of all upcoming events at IBC Giessen, please take a look at the Church Calendar on our website: https://www.ibc-giessen.org/calendar/ .

Coming Up…

King’s Daughters are meeting for a Tea Party on Saturday 10th May at 1:30pm. Rather than being in the FTH Student Kitchen they will share time together in Edma’s home. If you need an address, feel free to reply to e-mail us at the above address and ask. Please RSVP by Thursday 8th May if you would like to attend.

Our next Worship Night isn’t that far away either! On the 16th May at 6:30pm, everyone is invited for an extended time of sung praise and worship, as well as prayer, in the Chapel Room of the FTH. We look forward to seeing a full room!

The news brings us stories of boiling tensions between nations. The Ukrainians and the Russians; those in Israel and Palestine; and there has been a slow increase in whispers regarding Canada. With the election coming up, and a recent terror attack only adding to the feeling of insecurity, we must continue to pray for peace within the country, as well as those trying to challenge it. As a new German government begins its term in Berlin, we too lift up our politicians to do the right thing for the citizens of this country, and think of how their actions might have consequences on the rest of the world.

God’s richest blessings to you and all who you meet this week!
