Update for Monday, May 19th 2025

Dear Church family and friends,

A well-known Bible verse re-explained with a twist; that’s what Pastor Buddy gave us on Sunday morning. What does the Liberty Bell have to do with John 12 : 20 – 26? Find out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CXid3vNnx2I

This week in Church…

Young Adults’ Bible Study (YABS) will again meet in their smaller groups dotted around Giessen this week. Everyone meets at 7pm and there’s even an English speaking group! If you would like to find out more about what they are studying, or who is meeting where please write to yabs@ibc-giessen.org

Praying Moms will meet online on Tuesday evening at 7:30pm. Their next session will be on Monday 26th May at 9:30am.

Mid-Week Bible Study continues on Wednesday evening at 7pm in the Israel Room in the FTH. For those unable to make it for that time, you are more than welcome to join this study on Israel’s Kings via Zoom. Don’t feel that you need to have attended every session to be part of the study group – newcomers are always welcome!

Men’s Breakfast won’t be happening at the Student Kitchen on Saturday – but they will be meeting for a breakfast-fuelled hike to the Schiffenberg at 10am. Any gentlemen who are interested should know that they should gather at the University parking lot and that the excursion will take around 2 hours. Please bring a thermal cup for coffee! If you plan on joining the group, please write to the e-mail address given below.

Sunday morning at 11am we will meet in the Chapel Room of the FTH for our weekly Worship Service. If you are unable to be there physically, you can watch along online via our livestream.

If you require a link to our livestream or any other online activity we have coming up this week, please e-mail office@ibc-giessen.org. For a full list of all upcoming events at IBC Giessen, please take a look at the Church Calendar on our website: https://www.ibc-giessen.org/calendar/.

Keep in mind…

The last time Kennedy led our Sunday morning Worship Service, he mentioned a couple of events happening during the summer:

As we don’t have a Baptismal pool, we need to go elsewhere in order to baptise believers and celebrate publically their confession of faith. In recent years, this has taken place in the Wissmarer See, which is where we plan on going this year as well. We have no firm date yet, but should you be interested in baptism we encourage you to get in touch with one of our Pastors as soon as possible.

Also scheduled in for (early) summer is our Church BBQ. We’ll fire up the grill and share sausages, salads and desserts after the service on Sunday. Look out for a sign-up sheet when you enter the Chapel Room in the coming weeks!

God’s richest blessings to you and all who you meet this week!
