Dear Church family and friends,
Fact-checking and determining whether something is true or false, fake or real, is part of day-to-day life. Yet we are surprised – and sometimes (more than) a little hurt – when we are the ones under investigation. Our characters are tested against our words, deeds and reactions. What’s the best way to pass this test? Pastor Buddy’s latest instalment in our verse of the year series certainly offers up some ideas: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmfPXi7YKXA.
This week in Church…
Praying Moms will meet online this week on Tuesday (3rd) at 7:30pm. Next week, the group will be praying together on Monday (9th) at 9:30am.
Young Adults’ Bible Study (YABS) is also on Tuesday evening, with groups meeting around Giessen at 7pm. If you would like to find out more about what they are studying or who is meeting where, please write to yabs@ibc-giessen.org
Mid-Week Bible Study continues on Wednesday evening at 7pm in the Israel Room in the FTH. For those unable to make it for that time, you are more than welcome to join this study on Israel’s Kings via Zoom. Don’t feel that you need to have attended every session to be part of the study group – newcomers are always welcome!
Our Worship Service will take place at end of the week, in its usual slot of Sunday morning at 11am. If you are unwell, or unable to get to the Chapel Room for any other reason, we encourage you to join in online.
If you require a link to our livestream or any other online activity we have coming up this week, please e-mail office@ibc-giessen.org. For a full list of all upcoming events at IBC Giessen, please take a look at the Church Calendar on our website: https://www.ibc-giessen.org/calendar/.
Also coming up this month…
King’s Daughters will be meeting at Yelena‘s place on Saturday 14th June at 2pm. We will think about our identity as children of God. Snacks and drinks will be provided, as well as stationary for making cards with encouraging proclamations. If you are in the WhatsApp group you can leave a thumbs-up there, letting Gabriela, Debora and Yelena know that you will be attending – Yelena’s address can also be found there. If not, then please write to the e-mail address given above and we will pass the information on.
A week later, after the Worship Service on Sunday 22nd, we will be having a Church BBQ. There is a sign-up sheet circulating in Church where you can put your name down for a salad or dessert contribution to the meal. If you are unsure what you will bring, we’d be grateful if you could still put your name down if you plan on coming. IBC Giessen will provide the sausages for grilling, as well as the drinks, and we would like to have as few leftovers as possible!
Have a good week, filled with God’s richest blessings!
